This award and perpetual shield is given to the player who records the highest increase in ratings between successive NSW Championships. Winners to date are:

NSW Tournament Medal

This award is given to the tournament medal contender who records the highest ratings increase at the NSW Championships. A contender is any player who records the highest ratings gain at a NSW tournament during the 12 months leading up to teh State Championships. Winners to date are:

Jean McGiffen Spirit of Scrabble Award

This award is given to the player who the Scrabble NSW Committee believes has shown outstanding dedication to the game of Scrabble.
