These places are on the route of Tram 59. The suburb of Moonee Ponds has a number of options

The Windy Hill venue is accessible from Essendon Railway Station on the Craigieburn line or on tram route 59 (Airport West) from Elizabeth Street in the city.

There are three car parks:

  1. Across the road from the Social Club, in Napier Street
  2. Across the road from the Fitness Centre, in Napier Street.
  3. On Brewster Street behind the venue.
All of these car parks provide free, all day parking.


Train, tram and bus travel use a myki card which must be purchased before travel from eg a newsagent or a 7-11 store. A visitor pack with a card and discount vouchers is available at the airport or perhaps from your hotel.


The number 59 tram runs between the city and Airport West. Stop 43, Brewster Street, is 10 minutes walk away from the venue.


Closest stations are Essendon and Glenbervie, about 5 minute walk.


Route 477 Tullamarine Bus Lines, not frequent or reliable, bus stop in front of Terminal 1 in bus bay and bus stop near Windy Hill is at Essendon Railway Station.

OR Skybus between the airport and the CBD ($15 not myki).


Meals are available at the Terrace Bistro at the venue, including a Seniors two course menu for under $15. Snacks are under $10.
In Napier Street down the hill, there are about a dozen eating places and fast food places and a Seven Eleven convenience shop.

The Alice Cafe at 25 Napier Street next to the Fish and Chip shop takes pride in its coffee. It has a good breakfast and lunch menu, and for our sake the obliging Richard is not only opening earlier at 7am for breakfast, but also giving a 7.5% discount to our players. The Royal Hotel across the roundabout has meals and drinks, and is open 9am to 5am.
